Master Bedroom

Okay so people have been saying. "Are you done with the floors yet?"
Duh! no, not yet:) We intentionally did not set any deadlines about this MAJOR project because we don't need any more stress in our lives... right?
Well, we moved out of the master bedroom about 6 weeks ago and we are almost. .. I say almost ready to move back in. Bathroom done, just minor cute details and now the MB done... we will now be embarking on redoing the MB closet. We ripped out the old bars and make shift shelves and purchased some laminated boards (on sale!! H.D.. we cleaned them out!) and Hubs and I have designed a closet system that we will create and install for a fraction of the price of the premade. Cross your fingers our woodworking fairies will be with us!

Master Bathroom

Whiew! We are almost there... Thankfully we decided not to rip out the shower/tub because good grief... bathrooms are not easy! I am doing some last minute grouting, filling and painting. Then a thorough cleaning and PUT the door back on.. and we are back in business to do our business... sorry, too much information.
Check out the pics of the grand process. Will post the grand transformation hopefully soon. Fingers crossed in a week! Unlike HGTV, this is taking us about 1 month of weekends and some lazy
weekends in there too... We still have the old sink and toilet to have removed from our backyard. I know our neighbors will be happy to see it gone. I can't tell you how many times we have been in the back and I have been tempted just to sit on it. Ha!

Enjoy, we will soon:)

2 Rooms Down... 3 and a hallway to go!

I love what we have done so far. This weekend we plan to have some friends over for a big Thanksgiving Sunday lunch in July.. perhaps we will trick our brawny guy friends to help us move our bedroom entertainment cabinet (freakishly heavy) after a nice big lunch. Our bedroom is next along with a bathroom remodel. We decided to keep the tub/shower since its in good shape, and put in a tile floor, new sink and countertop and water saving toilet. We have a cool idea for the countertop around our sink. I will take pics of it as we go along. We found the bathroom sink in the home store's clearance section for a steal and also a couple of boxes of hardwood flooring to install our idea for a wooden bathroom countertop... should be interesting. But we must remember to wipe up after using the sink.
Here are the pictures of our finished rooms.

Floored by Flooring

So I guess I should have started this.. umm a year ago when we moved into our home. But basically aside from our patio and firepit... Its only starting to get really interesting.
As much as Hubs and I love to live in luxury.. our pocketbooks don't always allow it. So we modify. Such as our current project.
Installing Engineered Wood floors in our ENTIRE house. All 1600 square feet of it. The only exception is the Bathrooms, Dining and Kitchen. We have GRAND plans for those rooms later.
Hence the blog to assist us.
A couple of months ago Hubs calls me at work to say he ordered the flooring from Lumber Liquidators and it was going to be delivered.
Come delivery day, we were packed and ready to leave town for a quick weekend getaway and hanging out to wait for our flooring delivery.
Did I mention our house is on a hill? The hill has been a pain since the day we moved it. And this day proved to be even more. The delivery guy plopped about 47 boxes weighing 67 lbs each a the bottom of the driveway. We ended up backing my SUV down the hill, loading up the boxes, driving up the hill and unloading them. It took us about an hour, but we did it... STEP 1.
